Management of Canada Thistle, Cirsium arvense (Family: Asteraceae), via Administration of Systemic Aminopyralid in Homo sapiens

ABSTRACT
The success of utilizing systemically administered aminopyralid for the control of Cirsium arvense (Family: Asteraceae) in Zooanthroponotic Occult MetaBiomimetic Infectious (ZOMBI) Encephalitis-positive Homo sapiens was evaluated for its potential application in the control and prevention of currently escalating superweed populations. Six aminopyralid dosage regimens (0.025, 0.05, 0.25, 0.50, 5.0, and 50.0 mg/kg bw/day), one positive control, and one negative control were administered intravenously for fourteen days to eight groups. Mean blood aminopyralid concentrations increased with increasing dose. Mean skin concentrations, when detected, increased with increasing dose and throughout the fourteen-day trial in groups receiving 50.0 mg/kg bw/day and 5.0 mg/kg bw/day. Aminopyralid was not detected in the skin in the 0 mg/kg bw/day, 0.025 mg/kg bw/day, and 0.05 mg/kg bw/day dosage regimens. Cirsium arvense germination and growth were significantly reduced in individuals receiving daily doses ≥ 0.25 mg/kg bw/day. Compared with the controls and lower doses of 0.05 mg/kg bw/day and 0.025 mg/kg bw/day where germination and growth were greater than 90% at Day 14, administration of 0.25 mg/kg bw/day resulted in a reduction to less than 35% at Day 14. There was no germination or growth documented after Day 7, Day 4, and Day 3 at the three progressively higher doses, respectively. This evidence strongly suggests that suppression of the agricultural weed, C. arvense, is accomplished in individuals testing positive for ZOMBI encephalitis by administration of intravenous aminopyralid. Additionally, residual activity secondarily applied in the field via the roaming habits of dosed individuals may provide control to established populations and prevent new growth.
